RACE COMMENT

OVERVIEW: VERA LANE (1) led out then took cover when a convincing winner over IJUSTCALLEDTOSAY (7) at Melton last outing. She adopted the same tactics when she scored at Bendigo prior and she is perfectly drawn to suit her racing pattern so she must be respected. SKY FLAIR (4) came from a long way back and produced a big finish to score at Melton last week. She has had three wins and three seconds from six starts since resuming and she is very versatile so she is worth thought again. IJUSTCALLEDTOSAY (7) won at his first three attempts prior to racing greenly in the leading role and finishing second at his latest attempt. He is still learning but he has a lot of ability and is worth an investment. VYTIS (10) never really appeared to be comfortable and eventually broke stride with 700m remaining when unplaced first up.
