OVERVIEW: ULTIMATE JOY (8) trailed the leader and just failed when a narrow second behind All Blazing Guns in a slick mile rate of 1.53.5 at Geelong. Her previous two attempts were in strong Super Series events so she appears to be very well placed under these conditions. RACING WRITER (2) is racing consistently and looms as one of the leading chances. He ran along at a genuine tempo and was gunned down late when second at Wagga last week and he was third in the race won by All Blazing Guns prior. AMERICAN VICTORY (1) will appreciate her best draw in four career starts when she steps out from the pole position. She tried to sustain a long run when a game third at Ballarat last week so she must be respected.
