RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: ALDEBARAN ACRUX (10) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and was runner up behind the top mare I’m Ready Jet two starts ago. She continues to race consistently and this appears to be her chance to break through for a win. PINNIE (8) led out then took cover behind EL RESAMO (7) when she got up to score in a slick mile rate of 1.56.3 last week. She is awkwardly drawn but should be at her peak form after having three starts back from a break and will be hitting the line strongly. MAORIS MAC (2) got a long way back from a poor draw and made ground when fifth behind Keayang Lavita at her first run since October. She won the Nutrien Final last season and should have benefited from her first up run so she must be rated highly. ILLAWONG LARAJAY (11) had little luck after commencing from the inside of the second line and being shuffled back on the markers last week.
