RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: SASSY GABBY (9) raced without cover and endured a tough run in fast time so she had excuses at her latest attempt. She led throughout in a mile rate of 1.56.6 three starts ago and she has shown plenty of talent in her six starts to date so she must be respected. TIVOLI (6) finished third in the Homegrown Classic at the end of her last campaign so she has the ability to feature prominently. She was runner up behind Soap And Bubbles when resuming then didn’t have much luck at her next attempt. YANKEE CAPTAIN (4) pushed forward to race without cover, hit the lead on the home turn and held off the challenge of Blackjack Whacko when an impressive winner at Bendigo. He has the best draw out of the major chances and should give a forward showing. OWEN THE SAINTS (5) tried to sustain a long run and peaked late when a close fourth behind Goodtime Captain at Bendigo last outing. He hasn’t had much luck recently and is worth a ticket each way.
