RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: VINEY (3) was resuming since March when he performed well below expectations and finished last of eight at Melton. He quickly bounced back several days later with a slashing trial success in fast time so he is worth another chance. SHOTINTHEDARK (1) possesses early speed and will be aiming to find the back of VINEY (3) shortly after the start. He had little luck when a close up fourth at Cranbourne last outing and he was runner up twice in succession at Melton back in January. LADY SALINA (8) showed very good gate speed to lead and was run down over the latter stages when fifth at Bendigo last outing. She performed well from off the speed in her efforts prior and she is drawn to gain an economical run on the markers so she is a definite place chance. Other place hopes include WHISKEYDRINKINGBILL (2), OLLIES MEDAL (6) and PISTOL PEARCE (9). EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 1,2,6 RATINGS: 3/ 1/ 2,8,9/ 6
