RACE COMMENT
OVERVIEW: THE VILLAIN (3) finished seventh at his latest attempt but he was left stranded on the outside of the leader and raced fiercely in a much stronger race so he had excuses. He is better than his form reads and gets his chance to show improvement here. WICHITA KANSAS (4) used some energy to hold a forward position in the early stages and trailed the leader for the majority of the trip when a close up third in a slick mile rate of 1.55.4 at Ballarat last week. This is a suitable assignment and he should go well again. ROYAL SAXON (9) is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and is a value hope from the trailing draw. BETTES BLUE VIOLET (5), THE DEMOCRAT (7) and LENARD ESS (8) are all capable of showing up without surprising. EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 2,4,5 RATINGS: 3,4/ 5,9/ 7,8
